The system will detect the moisture of soil by using moisture sensor. Besides that, the other input is notification. The system will send notifications to the user and the user will need to give feedback to the system. System output for this application is valve to control the water flow. After it has received the notification, the valve will automatically release the water and will direct the water to the plant. The other output is timer. The water will flow according to the time setting. The process starts when the system detects the moisture of the soil through the sensor. After that, the GSM module will send the notication to the user. User will need to reply “YES”. If the user reply “YES” the system will turn on the valve and water will flow from the main pipe through the tubes and to the plants. The water will flow for a specific amount of time, which is set by the system. If the user do not interested to watering the plant they can just ignore the message and the system will not progress anything but after six hour, the system will notify again. From the software flow chart showed below, we can see how APWAS works through a microcontroller (brain).
